Bitcoin ETFs Dominate Weekly Inflows as Ethereum Faces Outflows
On October 5, US spot crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) showed unusual activity. Bitcoin and Solana ETFs experienced net outflows, while Ethereum ETFs recorded net inflows. XRP products had no net flow for the day.
The daily data contrasts sharply with the weekly trends. Bitcoin ETFs have been the most popular, while Ethereum has seen less interest. Bitcoin ETFs collected $241.09 million in weekly net inflows for the week ending early October, marking the third straight positive week. Cumulative inflows since their 2024 launch reached around $57.8 billion.
In contrast, Ethereum ETFs had $138.02 million in net outflows over the same period, reversing the prior week's $690 million inflow. Solana and XRP ETFs continued their inflow streaks, adding $2.43 million and $4.74 million respectively. Zcash ETFs recorded their first weekly outflow of approximately $94 million.
The data suggests a shift in investor sentiment, with Bitcoin gaining dominance. While Bitcoin's inflows indicate steady demand, Ethereum's outflows raise concerns about its market position. The research warns that continued rotation toward Bitcoin could increase volatility in the broader crypto market.
