Bitcoin ETFs Draw Record $6.3B in Q3 Amid Price Surge
Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw their strongest quarter of 2026 in Q3, attracting $6.34 billion in net inflows as Bitcoin's price rose nearly 43%. The rebound from the first half was significant, with Bitcoin gaining 42.71% in the third quarter, its strongest quarterly gain since Q4 2024 and its best third-quarter performance since 2017.
The quarterly flows reversed about $5 billion in net outflows recorded in the second quarter. US spot Bitcoin ETFs closed September with $2.65 billion in net inflows, down around 25% from August's $3.52 billion. However, September saw a weaker note for Bitcoin ETFs, recording roughly $149 million in net outflows on Wednesday.
US spot Ether ETFs attracted about $3.05 billion in Q3 after roughing $714 million in net outflows in Q2, while Ether gained about 71% during the quarter. Other altcoin funds also saw significant inflows, including XRP ETFs at $308 million and Solana and Zcash ETFs at $272 million and $246 million, respectively.
