US Bitcoin funds managed to hold onto a modest weekly inflow of $301.2 million despite late outflows totaling nearly $774 million on Thursday and Friday. Farside Investors' preliminary data shows that while Monday through Wednesday saw strong inflows of $1.0747 billion, the last two days of the week erased much of those gains. The net result leaves the week with a smaller positive balance, making the overall trend more nuanced than either the early buying spree or the subsequent withdrawals.
The late outflows were primarily driven by BlackRock’s IBIT and Fidelity’s FBTC, which saw withdrawals of $110.3 million and $31.8 million, respectively. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT was an exception, recording a $4.2 million inflow. Meanwhile, Ether funds faced a weekly outflow of $220.7 million, with Friday’s small inflow of $4.4 million doing little to offset Thursday’s $110.6 million withdrawal.
Farside’s data still shows missing entries for VanEck’s Friday figures in both Bitcoin and Ether tables, meaning the published totals are incomplete. This leaves room for potential adjustments in future updates. The data also highlights that fund flows only describe demand through listed vehicles and do not account for other market activities or investor intentions.
Looking ahead, the key question is whether fresh subscriptions can rebuild the demand lost in the last two sessions. While the week ended with a positive balance, the late reversal suggests institutional demand may not be as steady or one-directional as previously thought.
