Bitcoin ETFs Fall Short by $5 Billion Amid September Rebound
US Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have seen their first daily outflow in over two weeks, interrupting a recovery that had brought cumulative inflows close to a record. The funds posted $148.7 million of net withdrawals on September 30, ending nine consecutive positive sessions that had attracted about $3.08 billion.
The reversal was driven by Fidelity's FBTC fund, which saw $125.6 million in outflows. Bitwise's BITB lost $13.6 million, and BlackRock's IBIT shed $9.5 million, while the other nine listed funds recorded no net flows.
Despite this setback, September remained a strongly positive month for Bitcoin ETFs, with the products attracting about $2.65 billion in inflows, their strongest monthly flow this year behind August's $3.52 billion.
The recovery has also brought lifetime cumulative flows back toward their previous high, leaving the funds roughly $5 billion short of their peak at around $62.8 billion, reached on October 10, 2025.
