Bitcoin ETFs Make Strong Recovery with $3.8 Billion Inflows
US-listed Bitcoin ETFs have made significant strides in recovering from their losses this year. Since January, these funds have seen a net deficit of $1 billion due to redemptions exceeding inflows. However, recent data suggests that the trend has reversed with a burst of inflows over three weeks starting early September, totaling around $3.8 billion.
This influx of new capital brought the year-to-date amount below the $1 billion mark and marked one of the best months for the category in 2026. August saw net inflows reach $3.52 billion, reversing a pattern that had defined the middle of the year.
The funds were hit hard earlier this year, with an estimated $4.5 billion in redemptions in June and losses in May contributing to their accumulated loss. The BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) remains the largest fund in the category, followed by Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC), which is described as having spurred the current rally.
