Bitcoin ETFs Poised to Surpass Gold in Assets: Bloomberg Analyst
Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas says Bitcoin's biggest hurdle for investors is its volatility, but he expects this concern to fade as the market matures.
The analyst believes that Bitcoin ETFs could eventually reach three times the assets of gold ETFs, citing younger investors who are more likely to treat BTC as a store of value. He also points to falling volatility and stronger sales activity around BTC funds.
Younger investors will be instrumental in helping Bitcoin ETFs close the gap with gold, according to Balchunas. As these investors accumulate more capital, they will help drive demand for Bitcoin ETFs, which could eventually triple gold's assets.
The analyst emphasizes that his view does not mean gold will disappear; rather, he believes it will be lapped by Bitcoin ETFs as a category long term.
