Bitcoin ETFs Pull In $1 Billion in Single Day Amid Retail Interest
Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw their largest single-day inflow in nearly a year on September 21, drawing in $999 million. This influx brought the average investor back to breakeven after being underwater since January.
The surge was led by three funds: BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB), and Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC). These funds accounted for 91% of total inflows, with IBIT attracting $381 million, its fourth-best day since launch.
The influx of new investments is seen as a sign of retail interest in the market, rather than institutional trading. Eric Balchunas, Bloomberg ETF analyst, believes that the uneven pattern of flows indicates grassroots buying, as opposed to a single player dominating the market.
