Bitcoin ETFs' Q3 Surge Can't Overcome First-Half Outflows
Bitcoin ETFs attracted $6.3 billion in Q3, but year-to-date totals are down due to significant outflows in the first half.
The funds' net assets dropped by 14.6% from January's peak of $128 billion, reaching $109.3 billion as of October 2026. A substantial portion of this drop can be attributed to Bitcoin's price trading around 5% below its starting point for 2026.
Investors withdrew about $5.4 billion from these funds in the first half before a notable return in Q3, with the year-to-date total standing at just $985 million. This significant gap suggests that investors rebalanced their portfolios or took profits near the January peak.
