Bitcoin ETFs Stage Late-Week Comeback as Price Tops $81,000
US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw significant inflows on September 18 as Bitcoin's price topped $81,000. After two days of heavy bleeding earlier in the week, these funds pulled in a staggering $433 million in a single session, dragging their net total back into positive territory. The week started with investors yanking out nearly $750 million across two consecutive sessions.
The net weekly inflow landed at roughly $6.2 million, a far cry from the $1.92 billion recorded just weeks prior, which had first pushed Bitcoin above $80,000. Fidelity's FBTC was the day's dominant magnet for capital, absorbing approximately $310.7 million, while BlackRock's IBIT pulled in about $108.4 million.
Bitcoin's price reflected the shift in sentiment, climbing above $81,000 and holding there through the weekend. Short-covering activity added fuel to the rally as traders who had bet against Bitcoin were forced to buy back their positions.
