Bitcoin ETFs Surge to Best Month in 2026 as BTC Rises 25%
US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw their best month in 2026, attracting $3.52 billion in net inflows in August. This is a significant rebound from July's $172 million in net outflows.
The surge in ETF demand closely tracked the price action of Bitcoin, which rose around 25% in August to its strongest monthly gain since November 2024. The momentum carried over into early September, with total net assets rising by about 31% and trading volume climbing nearly 49%.
However, the September start saw a sharp flow reversal, with $236.46 million in net outflows on Tuesday, reversing the previous day's inflow of $216.70 million. The shift coincided with weaker market pricing, with Bitcoin briefly falling below $77,000 after trading above $80,000 in late August.
