Bitcoin ETFs Swell by $1.7B as BTC Tops Holder Cost Basis
US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw massive inflows over the past two days, pulling in $1.7 billion in net inflows on Monday and Tuesday. This surge comes as Bitcoin cleared its average cost basis for holders since January, with Bloomberg Intelligence analyst James Seyffart estimating that average entry point at $81,722 per coin. On Tuesday, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led the intake with $350 million, followed by Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) drawing in $257 million.
The total net assets across US spot Bitcoin ETFs reached about $111 billion on Tuesday, a 56% increase from its 2026 low of $71 billion on June 30. However, it still remains 13% below the cycle high of $128 billion set on January 14. Bitcoin's price also played a significant role in this surge, trading around $86,000 on Tuesday and briefly topping $87,000 on Wednesday.
The flow into US spot Bitcoin ETFs comes as investors continue to seek exposure to the cryptocurrency market. This development highlights the growing interest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies among institutional investors. However, it's essential for investors to remember that investing in cryptocurrencies carries significant risks and can result in substantial losses.
