Bitcoin, Ether ETFs Soar as Crypto Winter Declared Over
Fundstrat's Sean Farrell believes 'crypto winter is over' as Bitcoin and Ether ETFs attract significant inflows. On Monday, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $998.9 million in net inflows, with BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) being the largest beneficiary, attracting about $68 billion in assets.
Bitcoin surged above $86,000 on Tuesday and briefly reached $87,360, while Ether ETFs recorded around $143.8 million of inflows on September 18, with BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) leading the group.
Nicolai Søndergaard from Nansen attributed the move to renewed ETF demand and a short squeeze, as nearly $919 million in crypto short positions were liquidated during the latest surge. Analysts like Ed Engel from Compass Point described crypto as being in the early stages of a new bull market.
