Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP Whales Start Accumulating Amid Ongoing Bear Market
CryptoQuant's analysis suggests that large investors in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP are buying up assets during the ongoing bear market. Despite many smaller retail traders selling their coins, whales are steadily increasing their holdings.
The firm notes that this pattern has emerged in previous bear markets as well, with large investors adding supply and reducing downside pressure. This could indicate that the market is entering its final stage of decline, although prices may still fall before reaching a confirmed bottom.
For Bitcoin, CryptoQuant found that wallets owned by whales have increased their holdings to around 3.06 million BTC, while Ethereum's mega whales have added about 1.8 million ETH since mid-2025, increasing their combined holdings by approximately 70% to roughly 4.6 million ETH.
CryptoQuant also analyzed the assets' realized prices, which show that Bitcoin is trading above its cost basis floor of $52,900, while XRP's price nears its realized price of around $0.75. Ethereum, however, stands out as the only asset trading below its realized price.
