Bitcoin, Ethereum Plunge in Morning Crypto Sell-Off
Crypto markets experienced a chaotic morning session on Thursday, with most major digital assets suffering significant losses. The two largest coins by market capitalization led the decline, with Bitcoin plummeting 3.35% to $62,560.01 and Ethereum dropping even more sharply, down 4.07% to $1,839.35.
Other notable decliners included Solana, which fell 2.78% to $72.40, XRP, which declined 1.82% to $1.06, Dogecoin, which slipped 1.76% to $0.07, and BNB, which dropped a more modest 1.07% to $585.65.
However, Cardano stood out as an outlier, surging 10.09% to $0.19, a move that will likely draw attention from traders seeking to understand the catalyst behind such a divergent performance. Avalanche edged up a marginal 0.09% to $6.44, providing little comfort to bulls across the wider market.
The overall tone remains cautious, with selling pressure concentrated at the top of the market cap table. Traders will be monitoring whether Bitcoin can find support around current levels or if further downside is forthcoming as the session progresses.
