Bitcoin Faces Crucial Resistance Ahead of $100K Target
Bitcoin is recovering from its recent crash but still faces significant hurdles before reaching $100,000. After falling below $75,000 earlier this week, BTC has climbed back toward $78,000, a notable recovery considering it absorbed two major headwinds: the Federal Reserve's first rate hike since 2023 and the Senate's failure to advance the CLARITY Act.
Institutional demand is showing signs of returning, with U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recording $159.5 million in net inflows on September 17, reversing two consecutive days of heavy withdrawals. This follows a stronger period earlier in September when ETFs completed their strongest three-week inflow streak of the year.
However, before reaching $100,000 becomes realistic, Bitcoin needs to break through the $80,000-$82,000 resistance zone. The recent price action has struggled around this level, making it a crucial breakout point. Options traders have already shown interest in both levels, with December open interest concentrated around $80,000 and $100,000 strikes.
