Bitcoin Faces Crucial Resistance Zone at $82,000
Bitcoin's latest recovery is being put to the test as it approaches a critical resistance zone that could determine whether its bull market continues or faces another correction. The flagship cryptocurrency has rebounded strongly, climbing back above $80,000 on September 19, driven by renewed demand for spot Bitcoin ETFs, short liquidations, and improving regulatory sentiment.
According to TradingShot analysis, Bitcoin is currently testing a key barrier formed by its 1-day 20-period moving average and the 50-week moving average. This level has been described as the crucial condition that will confirm whether the current recovery develops into a bull market or faces another significant correction.
If Bitcoin fails to break through this resistance, it could follow a path similar to previous bearish legs seen earlier in the year, with a downside target of approximately $61,500 identified using Fibonacci extension projections. This level falls within a major support zone defined by the 200-week and 250-week moving averages.
Despite technical caution, several market factors continue to support Bitcoin's broader uptrend, including a major short squeeze that liquidated hundreds of millions of dollars in bearish crypto bets, strong inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, and positive regulatory signals from the CFTC and SEC.
