Bitcoin Favored to Reach All-Time High First, but XRP's Low Confidence Raises Questions
Three AI models, ChatGPT, Grok, and Gemini, were asked to predict which cryptocurrency will reach its all-time high first: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), or XRP. They agreed that Bitcoin would lead, followed by Ethereum, with XRP trailing behind.
The models differed in their confidence levels, with Gemini giving Bitcoin a 70% probability, followed by Grok's 58%, and ChatGPT's 55%. This raises questions about the reliability of AI predictions, especially when all three cryptocurrencies are still below their previous peaks.
The analysis looked at the market as of October 1, 2026, when Bitcoin was trading at $84,670, Ethereum at $2,699, and XRP at $1.49. To reach their all-time highs, Bitcoin needs a 49% gain, Ethereum requires an 83% increase, and XRP must climb 145%. This aligns almost perfectly with the size of the gap each cryptocurrency must close.
Gemini highlighted that Bitcoin needs to regain $820 billion in market value to reach its all-time high of $126,080. Despite Ethereum's recent growth, the AI models still favored Bitcoin, citing the significant amount of invested funds and the stronger fund base. ChatGPT noted that financial forecasts support Bitcoin's potential, with Citi's target of $113,000, only 10% below its all-time high.
