Bitcoin Futures Open Interest Surges 18% Amid Price Rejection
The Bitcoin futures market has seen a significant surge in open interest over the past 24 hours. Data from Coinalyze shows that futures open interest rose by 18.66% during this period, reaching approximately $1.3 billion. This increase is attributed to traders adding positions to their portfolios.
On the other hand, perpetual contracts saw a decline of 1.44%, with aggregated open interest down by 0.57%. The rise in futures activity suggests that traders are increasingly focusing on short-term price movements and hedging strategies.
Bitcoin's recent price rejection at $81,500 has led to increased scrutiny of the cryptocurrency's support levels. Analysts point to a key support area between $74,000 and $75,000, which could potentially hold back a deeper pullback in the market.
