Bitcoin Halving Cycle and ETF Inflows Signal Long-Term Rally
The Bitcoin price has been consolidating around the mid-$80,000 range as traders assess a combination of institutional demand, on-chain indicators, and the next halving cycle. The next halving is expected around April 2028, and recent market data shows that Bitcoin buyers have absorbed a key sell wall around $85,000, reducing one source of near-term resistance.
Historical halving-cycle analysis is drawing attention to the period leading into Bitcoin's fifth halving. The halving will reduce the block subsidy from 3.125 BTC to 1.5625 BTC, cutting the rate at which new BTC enters circulation.
BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF has recorded a sizable single-day inflow, highlighting continued institutional participation in the market. Whale Insider reported that clients of BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF purchased approximately $195.57 million worth of BTC in a single day.
TraderGemin noted that the MVRV Z-Score remains above its 365-day moving average, which has historically acted as a support level during broader price trend advances. BTC's share of daily sessions outperforming the S&P 500 has recovered above 50%, indicating renewed asset-specific demand.
