Bitcoin Heads for Third Straight Monthly Gain After 7% September Surge
Bitcoin is on track to extend its winning streak into a third consecutive month after rising by about 7% in September. This advance follows an increase of 25% in August.
The current price of BTC was trading at approximately $84,000 at 5:45 a.m. ET (09:45 UTC) on Sept. 29, according to recent data. A positive monthly close would mark the third consecutive month of gains for Bitcoin since July.
September's advance is part of the broader recovery seen in the quarter, with energy prices remaining an important factor in the U.S. economic backdrop. Brent crude averaged $91 per barrel in August, and the Energy Information Administration forecasts an average price of about $90 per barrel for the second half of 2026.
