Bitcoin Hits 1.7% of Global Money Basket Value
River, a Bitcoin-centric financial services firm, has reported that Bitcoin accounts for approximately 1.7% of the world's 'money basket', which totals around $138 trillion.
The money basket is calculated by combining the global fiat M2 money supply and gold's market capitalization, with figures pegged at $112.9 trillion and $25.1 trillion respectively.
At its peak market cap of around $2.4 trillion, BTC claimed about 1.7% of the basket, a figure that dropped slightly to roughly 1.66% at the time of River's reporting.
The supply dynamics of Bitcoin are also tightening, with daily issuance sitting at approximately 450 BTC per day following the most recent halving cycle.
Businesses alone are absorbing roughly 1,755 BTC daily, nearly four times the rate of new supply entering the market.
