Bitcoin Hits Brick Wall at $80k Amid Record-Breaking ETF Inflows
Bitcoin's recent price rally is facing major technical resistance as it nears $80,000, despite strong weekly inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs. The funds attracted a total of $1.92 billion in net inflows during the week ending August 22, marking their strongest week since October 2025.
According to Rekt Capital, a crypto investor and analyst, Bitcoin still faces resistance around its 50-week exponential moving average (EMA), which is currently acting as resistance. The analyst noted that Bitcoin must reclaim this level as support to strengthen the case for further upside.
The 21-week EMA also remains another hurdle for Bitcoin, with Rekt Capital stating that a weekly close above this level would mark only the first part of the confirmation process. BTC price would then need to retest and hold the 21-week EMA as support to confirm a new macro uptrend.
Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $1.92 billion in five sessions, with every trading day finishing with positive net flows. The total represented the strongest weekly inflow figure in roughly ten months.
