Bitcoin Holds Above Key Technical Threshold Amid Improving Momentum
Bitcoin's recent price action has stabilized above its 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) at around $95,000. This technical indicator is a widely followed metric that smooths price data over the past 50 days, giving more weight to recent prices.
The ability of Bitcoin to stay above this level is seen as a bullish signal by traders, suggesting that the short-term trend is turning upward. As of early 2025, BTC/USD is trading approximately 5% above the EMA, with technical indicators pointing to improving short-term momentum.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has moved from oversold territory to a neutral zone around 55, indicating that selling pressure has eased. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) has also printed a bullish crossover, which traders often interpret as a sign of increasing upward momentum.
However, the immediate resistance lies at the psychological $100,000 level, which has acted as a barrier since early January. A decisive break above this level could open the door to retesting the all-time high near $108,000.
