Bitcoin Holds Firm Above $84,000 as Crypto Liquidations Soar

Bitcoin maintained its position above $84,000 on September 28 as crypto liquidations surged to $187 million over 24 hours. The price of Bitcoin traded between $84,055 and $85,159 before settling at $84,092, representing a 0.25% decline from the previous day.

Ether (ETH) underperformed Bitcoin with a 0.75% drop to $2,674, while Solana (SOL) gained 0.62% to $121.63. XRP fell 0.23% to $1.5145, and the Fear and Greed Index rose to 74 from 70, remaining in the 'greed' range.

The largest single liquidation was a $3.34 million XRP-USD contract on Hyperliquid, and a total of 81,945 traders were affected by liquidations. Long positions accounted for $89.91 million of liquidations, while short positions represented $97.05 million.
