Bitcoin Holds Firm as Altcoins Struggle for Momentum
Bitcoin has regained its footing above $64,000, climbing over 1% in the past day to become the only major cryptocurrency showing significant gains. This suggests that buyers are still defending the lower end of the current trading range, but the broader trend remains uncertain.
The rest of the market is lagging behind, with most major altcoins struggling to follow Bitcoin's lead. Ether slipped below $1,900, while XRP dropped more than 1% and fell back below the important $1 level. BNB and Tron also edged lower, but Solana traded mostly flat around $76.
Among smaller large-cap tokens, Hyperliquid's HYPE stood out as a strong performer, rising above $59 and gaining around 7.5% over the past week. This shows that traders are becoming selective, favoring coins with stronger relative momentum rather than lifting the broader altcoin market.
