Bitcoin Holds Firm Near $84,000 Amid Rising Bond Yields
Bitcoin held steady near $84,000 on Friday as rising U.S. Treasury yields put pressure on the cryptocurrency.
The bond market was a major factor in Bitcoin's price action, with yields climbing above 5.2% for the first time since 2007.
This made interest-bearing assets more attractive and weighed on risk assets like Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
However, institutional demand provided some support for Bitcoin, with U.S. spot exchange-traded funds attracting $2.65 billion in five consecutive sessions through Wednesday.
