Bitcoin Holds Ground Near $64,000 Amid Rising Yields and Geopolitical Tensions
Bitcoin hovered around $64,100 on Tuesday, maintaining its gains from the previous session despite rising long-term US Treasury yields and oil prices.
The largest cryptocurrency held steady as the 30-year U.S. Treasury yield reached a 19-year high of 5.33% intraday, while the benchmark 10-year yield hovered near its highest level since January 2005 at 4.71%. The surge in yields was attributed to renewed inflation concerns following the expiration of a US-Iran ceasefire without a deal.
Market participants noted that the increase in yields reflected unease ahead of the Federal Reserve minutes release due on Wednesday, which could provide further insight into monetary policy decisions. Meanwhile, investor attention shifted to Washington, where President Donald Trump was set to host cryptocurrency industry executives at the White House.
