Bitcoin Hovers Near $63K as Investors Await Fed Meeting
Bitcoin traded near $63,000 on Tuesday as investors awaited the outcome of the US Federal Reserve's policy meeting. The world's largest cryptocurrency was trading at $63,458.
The Fed's decision has a significant impact on the market, and investors are closely watching for any signs of change in monetary policy. Despite easing geopolitical tensions, which had improved overall risk appetite, Bitcoin fell 2.93% over the past 24 hours.
Nischal Shetty, founder of WazirX, noted that institutional conviction remains fragile despite recent improvements in market sentiment. He also pointed out that holding the support zone between $62,500 and $62,800 could encourage buyers to step in and support a short-term recovery.
According to CoinMarketCap, the global crypto market capitalisation edged down 2.7% to $2.17 trillion. Avinash Shekhar, Co-Founder & CEO of Pi42, said that volatility is likely to persist in the near term, but long-term fundamentals remain intact.
Riya Sehgal, Research Analyst at Delta Exchange, noted that Bitcoin has fallen sharply toward $63,000, triggering a significant unwinding of leveraged positions. Akshat Siddhant, Lead quant analyst at Mudrex, said that Bitcoin came under renewed selling pressure ahead of the FOMC meeting.
