Bitcoin Industry Unites Against AI Security Threat

More than forty crypto companies have joined forces to address the growing concern of AI security in the industry. The Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) has coordinated this effort, urging top AI labs including OpenAI and Anthropic to grant vetted Bitcoin security experts access to their cutting-edge models.

The BPI frames this as a defensive imperative, stating that access to these technologies is necessary for auditors, DeFi developers, and CEX developers to detect and patch AI-enabled attack vectors. This would ultimately strengthen Bitcoin software security and adoption.

The request comes after hackers have already gained access to these models, putting the industry at risk. By granting approved security experts access to these models, the BPI hopes to help close this gap in AI security and prevent potential attacks on the Bitcoin network.
