Bitcoin Interest Hits Near-Historic Low in the US

The popularity of Bitcoin in the US has hit a near-historic low, according to Google Trends. The tool shows that interest in Bitcoin is at its lowest point since October and September 2023, when it was just 18 on their arbitrary numeric scale.

This comes despite President Trump's administration being crypto-friendly, which some expected would boost interest in the asset. However, even the recent millionaire exploit on the Coldcard hardware wallet, resulting in over 1,300 BTC lost for affected parties, failed to increase searches for Bitcoin.

In contrast, February of last year saw a peak in interest in Bitcoin, with a score of 100 on Google Trends' scale. This was also the week when one of the largest selloffs in Bitcoin history occurred, with prices dropping 30% to near-$60K.
