Bitcoin Long Position Liquidations Loom at $57,000 Threshold

Alphractal CEO Joao Wedson has warned of an increasing liquidation risk for Bitcoin, particularly in long positions. According to data from the past six months, long positions are accumulating faster than short positions in the market. The analyst notes that downward liquidity concentration is becoming more pronounced.

The largest long position liquidation zone is between $56,400 and $58,300, with some individual clusters approaching $2 billion in size. Wedson states that a drop to $57,300 could lead to the liquidation of approximately $1.93 billion in potential long positions.

Wedson also notes that there is a significant long liquidation area between $51,000 and $51,900, with several different liquidation clusters exceeding $1 billion in size. This could increase the likelihood of a chain reaction liquidation of leveraged long positions in the event of a sharp pullback.

The analyst emphasizes that the concentration of liquidation is more important than the total amount, highlighting the key difference between the long and short sides of the market. Wedson's biggest concern remains the $57,000 level, where highly leveraged positions are accumulating.
