Bitcoin Loses CPI Gains, Virtuals Protocol and OKB Rise
Bitcoin's attempt to hold above $64,000 was short-lived as it lost gains from the previous day's US Consumer Price Index (CPI) report. The CPI for July came in at 3.4%, meeting market expectations, but the rebound in Bitcoin was brief and the price dipped below $63,000.
Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) and OKB have emerged as top performers over the last 24 hours, with VIRTUAL up 10% and OKB gaining over 2%. The technical outlook for Bitcoin suggests a revisit to $60,000 is possible if it closes below the upward trendline near $63,814.
From a technical perspective, BTC holds beneath a dense cap of Exponential Moving Averages (EMA) at $64,523, $66,718, and $73,303. Momentum indicators back this weaker tone, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) hovering around 45 and the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) crossing below its signal line.
OKB is trading above the $100 psychological threshold and maintains a near-term bullish bias. A decisive close above the $100 mark could extend the rally toward the 127.2% Fibonacci extension level at $111, measured over the recent downswing from $99.64 to $65.76.
