Bitcoin Market Dominance Threatened by Rapidly Growing Rivals
Bitcoin has been the top cryptocurrency for nearly two decades since its launch in 2009. It now boasts a market cap of $1.7 trillion, almost five times that of Ethereum.
A recent analysis suggests that some rival cryptocurrencies could surpass Bitcoin's value within the next five years, provided they maintain their blistering growth rates.
The analysis assumes a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 34% for Bitcoin over the next five years, which would result in a market cap of over $7 trillion by 2030.
To put this into perspective, Zcash has already grown significantly this year, up 195%, while NEAR Protocol is up 203%. However, neither of these cryptocurrencies is likely to surpass Bitcoin's value within the next five years.
