Bitcoin May Overtake Gold as Reserve Asset, Reaches $1M Target
Binance's CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) predicts that Bitcoin may surpass gold as a reserve asset, reaching a price of $1 million in the future. According to CZ, gold currently holds this position due to established custody and reserve systems, not its inherent value. He believes that Bitcoin will approach this milestone sooner than most forecasts, driven by wider adoption in national reserves and pension funds.
CZ urges governments to set clear regulations for cryptocurrencies and consider adding Bitcoin to their reserves to accelerate the shift. He cites examples of countries like the UAE, US, Japan, and Hong Kong, which have already shown interest in adopting Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset.
The Binance CEO emphasizes that his prediction is based on the growing adoption of Bitcoin by national governments and institutions, rather than just speculative market momentum.
