Bitcoin Mining Difficulty Drops 10% Amid Slumping Hashrate
Bitcoin's mining difficulty has dropped by 10.09% in its second-largest decline of 2026, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
The adjustment occurred on June 14 at block 953,568 and marks the 11th-largest downward move in Bitcoin's history.
This drop brings current difficulty to 20% below its November 2025 peak and follows a decline in total hashrate of 12% in June alone, with it sitting 23% below its October 2025 peak.
The reduced computing power on the network means less competition among active miners, resulting in approximately 9% more earnings per machine for those still operating.
