Bitcoin Mining Output Slips Despite Rising Prices for CleanSpark, BitFuFu, and Canaan
CleanSpark, BitFuFu, and Canaan reported lower Bitcoin production in July despite rising BTC prices.
The mismatch highlights a core issue in the mining sector: a rising Bitcoin price can support revenue but does not guarantee stronger operating performance if network difficulty, fleet efficiency, or maintenance issues reduce output.
CleanSpark mined 586 Bitcoin in July, down from 614 in June. BitFuFu reported 112 Bitcoin, down from 125 in the previous month. Canaan's production also declined, but the exact figure is not provided.
The decline in production can be attributed to mining economics, which depend on more than just the market value of BTC. When more computing power joins the network, each miner can earn a smaller share of available rewards unless it adds capacity or improves efficiency.
