Bitcoin Must Stay Above 80000 by October 31 Warns Macro Investor
Macro investor Jordi Visser has set a clear benchmark for Bitcoin (BTC) ahead of the end of October. Visser, speaking on The Pomp Podcast on September 19, warned that if Bitcoin falls below $80,000 by October 31, it would signal a problem. As of the latest data, Bitcoin is trading at $85,896, which is 7.4% above Visser's critical threshold.
Visser's prediction stands out because he has specified both a price target and a deadline. He believes that Bitcoin's ability to stay above $80,000 by the end of the month will validate his bullish outlook. He also noted that Bitcoin's surge above $82,000 on October 3 served as early confirmation of this trend. However, the validity of his prediction will ultimately be determined by Bitcoin's performance on October 31.
Currently, Bitcoin is showing strong momentum, with a 33% increase over the past three months leading up to October 4. However, its weekly growth has slowed to 2.3%, and it remains 4.7% above the $82,000 level Visser cited as confirmation. A drop of around 5% before the end of the month could challenge this bullish signal. Additionally, Bitcoin is trading slightly below its starting price for 2026 and about 31% lower than it was a year ago.
Visser's focus on the $80,000 mark is significant for both long-term holders and short-term traders. While long-term holders may weather a price drop below this level, traders with positions near $80,000 could face immediate losses. Despite this, Visser remains optimistic about Bitcoin's long-term growth, identifying it as the only asset he feels confident about for the next 30 years.
