Bitcoin Opera Wins Biennale College, Blend's Pilot Edition Prize

The Biennale College, Blend program has announced the winner of its pilot edition, and it's an opera that reimagines Bertolt Brecht's Threepenny Opera in a world shaped by algorithmic power, surveillance capitalism, and artificial intelligence.

The 3 Bitcoin Opera, created by Claudix Vanesix and Cristina Soto Arias from Peru and France, respectively, was awarded the €20,000 prize for Best Project during an award ceremony at the Venice Immersive Island.

The opera explores a love story between two non-human beings in a futuristic city, raising questions about the possibility of connection and love outside violent systems. The project was part of Biennale College, Blend's pilot edition, which supported six international projects led by artists and their production teams.
