Bitcoin Plunges Below $80,500 as Crypto Market Faces Broad Sell-Off
Crypto markets faced a tough morning session on Tuesday, with most major digital assets experiencing significant losses as risk appetite weakened across the board.
Bitcoin led the decline, falling to $80,496.18, down 0.90% in early trading. Ethereum was not far behind, declining 2.00% to $2,579.18, extending recent pressure on the world's two largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
The altcoin sector bore the brunt of the selling, with Solana falling 2.17% to $108.60 and XRP down 2.12% to $1.38. Cardano dropped 2.97% to $0.22, while Dogecoin declined 2.89% to $0.09.
One bright spot in the market was Avalanche, which climbed 2.13% to $10.30 and stood out as the sole gainer among the eight tracked coins this morning.
