Bitcoin poised for first full bullish alignment since 2025
Bitcoin is edging closer to a full bullish moving-average alignment, a signal not seen since mid-2025. The cryptocurrency's 50-day moving average is already above the 100-day and 200-day averages, with the 100-day poised to cross above the 200-day. This would mark the first complete bullish stack in over a year, where short-, medium-, and long-term trends all point upward.
Despite a 40% rally to $87,000 in the third quarter of 2026, Bitcoin's price has since stalled near $85,000 as the U.S. Dollar Index strengthened. The upcoming crossover confirms the recovery's endurance, with the 50-day average at $79,495, the 100-day at $79,493, and the 200-day at $79,539.
Historical data shows mixed results from similar crossovers. Some, like those in late 2020 and early 2024, preceded significant rallies, while others, such as the one in mid-2025, led to only modest gains or even losses. Vikram Subburaj, CEO of Giottus, cautions that the crossover strengthens the trend but does not guarantee its continuation.
The key test now is whether Bitcoin can maintain its spot price above the 50-day average during potential volatility. Subburaj emphasizes that traders will be closely watching this level as the 100-day and 200-day averages complete their crossover.
