Bitcoin Price Hangs in Balance as Fed Decision Looms

Bitcoin's rate path remains split between investors who expect a decisive breakout and those who anticipate a pullback. The Federal Reserve's latest policy decision and new inflation data will be closely watched as traders assess the likelihood of further interest-rate hikes.

The US macro environment is driving market expectations, with FedWatch data from CME Group assigning a 31% chance of a July hike and higher odds for September. Markets will get a fresh read on inflation Thursday via the June PCE report, which IMEN expects to moderate to 3.7% year over year.

BTC whale inflows to Binance have cooled materially since mid-June, according to CryptoQuant. This could impact sell-side readiness and influence Bitcoin's near-term behavior. The cryptocurrency is currently range-bound, testing a widely watched 50-month trend level where sell-side activity may determine whether the range holds.
