Bitcoin Price Hit Twice in Two Days as Washington Shocks Send Markets Reeling
The Bitcoin price has been hit twice in two days due to events in Washington. On September 15, the Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act on a 49-50 cloture vote, causing a selloff and a drop of roughly -4% to around $75,908.
Less than 24 hours later, the Federal Reserve raised rates by 25 basis points to a 3.75%, 4.00% range, its first hike since 2023, and BTC briefly dipped toward $75,200 before clawing back above $76,000.
The current price of Bitcoin is around $76,600, up a modest +0.60% on the day, but down roughly -3% over the past seven days. The market is still digesting these events and it's unclear whether this is the bottom of the reaction or just a pause before the next leg down.
Support for Bitcoin sits near $75,930, with a deeper floor at $73,687 if that level breaks. Resistance stacks up at $78,446, then $81,374 and $85,188.
