Bitcoin Price Nears Second-Best Q3 Since 2017
Bitcoin's price continued to rise on Sunday, reaching $84,626.50 as of 01:39 ET, up 0.84% for the day. This puts Bitcoin near the end of its second-best third quarter on record, with a gain of about 43.5% since July when it started at around $58,500.
This would make this Bitcoin's strongest Q3 since 2017, when it rose by about 80%. Ether has done even better this quarter, climbing roughly 71%, putting it on track for its best Q3 ever.
Bitcoin made it through Friday's large quarterly options expiry without major issues and spot trading activity increased over the week. Traders also held back from heavy profit-taking.
