Bitcoin Price Prediction Soars to $300,000 by 2029, According to Fidelity Analyst
Fidelity's Director of Global Macro, Jurrien Timmer, is predicting a significant surge in Bitcoin's price, potentially reaching $300,000 by 2029. This represents a 257% increase from the current price of around $84,500. Timmer attributes this growth to the increasing appeal of alternative assets and the potential for Bitcoin to serve as a hedge against currency debasement and fiscal uncertainty.
Timmer notes that Bitcoin has held above the $80,000 mark for two weeks, and many Wall Street analysts believe the bottom may finally be in. The current crypto winter has been ongoing since last October, but if history repeats itself, the recent upward swing could be the start of a major rebound.
The 52-week Bitcoin-gold Z-score, which measures the under- or overvaluation of Bitcoin relative to gold, has recently turned positive after falling to -100% in the summer. This has happened three times since 2014, each time preceding a new growth cycle.
Timmer views Bitcoin as a distinct investment with its own strengths and weaknesses, including its volatility and growth potential. He believes that Bitcoin can complement gold as a portfolio diversifier, and with a market cap of $1.7 trillion, it currently accounts for about 0.3% of global wealth. If this percentage were to triple or more, a price target of $300,000 would seem feasible.
