Bitcoin Price Rebound Faces Crucial Test at $83,000
Bitcoin's price rebound has reached a critical juncture as it faces its next major test at $83,000. The cryptocurrency surged about 6% over the past 24 hours to trade near $81,300, with a short squeeze and improving technical momentum driving the price to its highest level in two weeks.
The rebound accelerated after Bitcoin reclaimed its True Market Mean near $76,660, forcing traders holding leveraged short positions to buy back the cryptocurrency as prices moved against them. This resulted in more than $250 million in short liquidations over the past day.
Bitcoin-related U.S. stocks also rallied during Friday trading, with Coinbase, Strategy, and Robinhood recording strong gains.
Analysts are watching the price action closely, with Ted Pillows noting that a sustained move above $83,000 would confirm a market bottom has formed. However, a rejection below $82,000 could leave BTC vulnerable to another test of $80,000 and $78,600.
