Bitcoin Price Roars Back, Surging Over 42% in Three Months
The Bitcoin (BTC) price has made a significant recovery, surging over 42% in just three months. The cryptocurrency, which had slumped from October 2025 to July 2026, has finally shown signs of life. As of September 30th, 2026, BTC's price has jumped from around $58,000 to over $83,000.
The recovery has been a welcome relief for investors who had been stuck in the red for months. However, the gains are not uniform, and the returns vary depending on when an investor entered the market. An investor who bought BTC in the past year is still underwater, while those who invested two to five years ago have seen substantial gains, with annualized returns ranging from 13.6% to 45.4%.
The good news doesn't stop there. Other large cryptocurrencies, such as ETH, have also seen significant gains, with ETH leading the charge, up around 70% since July 1st, 2026. However, the five-year historical price chart shows that ETH has drastically underperformed BTC, leaving investors who held only ETH in the red.
