Bitcoin Price Surge Lifts Spot ETF Investors Back to Profit
Bitcoin's price surged past $86,000 on Tuesday, lifting spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) investors into profit for the first time since January. According to Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart, the average purchase price for these investors was around $80,172. With Bitcoin trading above this level, ETF investors are now back in the black.
The rebound comes despite regulatory uncertainty and higher interest rates. The Clarity Act, a major U.S. congressional cryptocurrency bill, hit a snag last week, while the U.S. Federal Reserve raised interest rates. Despite these headwinds, Bitcoin has remained resilient.
Flows into spot bitcoin ETFs have also improved, with over $6 million in inflows last week. Investors put around $593 million into these products on Thursday and Friday alone. This is a significant increase from previous weeks, indicating growing investor interest in the cryptocurrency market.
