Bitcoin Price Surge Raises Warning Signs of a Correction Ahead
Bitcoin's recent surge to nearly $80,000 has raised concerns about a potential correction. In just two days, the cryptocurrency jumped by over $15,000, but it was rejected at this level.
One warning sign is that whales are cashing out. A mysterious whale offloaded 2,700 BTC for $212 million today, and another sold 550 BTC for nearly $40 million, securing a profit of $4.5 million.
The Fear and Greed Index has also skyrocketed to over 70, its highest level since October 2025. Historically, this has led to trend reversals when the market is in extreme territory.
Additionally, the 4-hour RSI hit an all-time high after BTC's surge to $79,700, which may have contributed to the asset cooling off immediately and slipping to $77,000 as of press time.
