Bitcoin Prices Surge as Institutional Demand Fuels Crypto Market Growth
The cryptocurrency market has reached a significant milestone, nearing a $3 trillion capitalization mark. The surge in Bitcoin's price led to a sharp increase in liquidations, with traders forced to close around $557.79 million in leveraged positions.
This rapid rise was largely driven by institutional demand, with spot crypto ETFs recording more than $1.9 billion in net inflows over 24 hours. Bitcoin products attracted the largest share of this investment, at $1.36 billion, followed closely by Solana at $257.25 million and Ethereum at $223.51 million.
However, traders were not immune to a temporary liquidity squeeze on Binance, which pushed the stablecoin USDe to a low of $0.92. This event caused Bitcoin's price to stabilize around the mid-$85,000 range.
