Bitcoin Pulls Back as Options Expiration Hits, But XRP and Solana Keep Climbing
Bitcoin's price took a breather on Friday, dropping about 0.9% to $83,600 after hitting an intraday high near $87,000 earlier in the day.
The pullback was likely due in part to the $15.6 billion in Bitcoin options that expired on Deribit, causing some traders to unwind their hedges.
However, technical indicators still point to a bullish trend for Bitcoin, with the 50-day moving average sitting above the 200-day in a 'golden cross' pattern.
XRP and Solana, on the other hand, are continuing to outperform the broader market, with XRP up 15.45% over the past week and Solana up 9.33% over the same period.
